Did you see the Beach Boys reunite?
Ahead of their 50th anniversary reunion tour, Beach Boys Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks perform live on stage with Brian Wilson for the first time in over two decades. At the Grammys:

IMHO, I thought it was a bit painful! I thought Adam Levine did a better job of singing BBoy songs.

I thought it was actually ok, however I think rock stars should quit while they are ahead. So many I think muddy their image a bit by doing these geriatric events.

Just printing what they had on the site. BTW, I saw the Beach Boys more than 30 years ago. Just as good in person as on their albums. The audience kept waiting for them to appear on stage. They were at the sound mixing area in the audience playing with the controls, and they simply strolled to the stage.

I had a hard time determining if they were actually singing.

Missed it.
I do have a few Beach Boys 45's in my old jukebox, though. |

I usually watch the Grammys because it's fun to see the other "stars" appreciate their fellow performers. Like Paul McCartney cheering Glen Campell, Glen Campell cheering the Beach Boys, everyone cheering the tribute to Whitney Houston. Plus, everything is live and seems more real.

They were playing within sight of my house about ten years ago. Sounded pretty good as I was tending my garden.

ANY band or person who tries to sing songs that they did 25 years ago should be shot.
They all sound like crap to me, and quite honestly are embarrassing themselves. I don't quite get it. PS> Once in a great while there is an exception. |

Did you happen to see the Doo-wop reunion on PBS several years ago? While I'm not a Public Television or Radio supporter, that special was great. The groups they had on not only sounded just like they did 40-50 years ago, they were still showmen, worth listening to, and likely reunited for the last time ever.
