I'll take it even a bit further: I don't have a dog (Don't have to since my neighbors have dogs...therefore, I have dogs), but I have cats, which are considerably harder to love and to show love. But a few of them, like Tank, Annie, and Isabell, are easier to like (and love) than most people. They trust me without conditions, and I think they love me without conditions. Although Annie bites and scratches me, she just doesn't realize how sharp her teeth and claws are. Her nips and scratches are very light and playful. I don't think any of them has a mean bone in their body.

I have certain family members that know that they rank below the hoof and paw members of the family with me.


Literally, if worse came to worse, the horses and dogs bring more to the table with them than some of the deadbeat relatives I have.
