Methinks you can't do much better than Clay or St. Johns county Florida....

look around on various sites....Doctor's lake through World Golf Village, or any place along the St. Johns river.....

lemme tell you, the relief from arthritis was GREAT....almost instant reaction in '97, when I moved here.....but of course the pains are back, and I have to take Ibuprofen again....but certainly better than 4' of snow in my driveway in early '97......

INsurance is a PIA in Florida, crooked as hell.....but you pay that instead of property taxes, which if you are over 65 and homesteaded you pay damn near nothing like me....a buck a day.....course I not on water and have a modest home, but WTF.....anything more is a PIA to me.....

We did a week last month in Amelia Island. Becka's brother has lived in Fernandina Beach for the last 20 years. We really like that area but are still looking

We have a place in Freeport (between Destin and Panama). I used to go down there 5/6 times a year but haven't been there now in almost three years. Rita and the kids have been but between changing jobs and losing vacation time plus using my vaca time for illnesses I just haven't had time. I am back up to twelve days now, but have used nine so far due to sinus infection and kidney stones.
Destin is a great place. I need to head down there sometime soon I guess.

lol, he builds custom shoes, inserts (orthotics), and prostesis, for amputees, athletes, vets, etc...he heads a small department at a large local clinic, he isnt in charge of any kind of money or equipment, just the designs, patient care, after surgery follow-ups, ...he is probably one of the best in his field in this area....but they are super super busy year round, and budget cuts reduced the brass in the department..so he inherited a grade-A mess a few years ago.

Its not even like he makes "alot" of money, for what his job is....but they have made so many rules as to when he can take off, its never convenient or never works out..so he is content to work his 40+ week after week, after week. He is devoted. Hell, he broke his leg back about 10 years ago, had a pin put in..nd the pin broke...he drove 45 minutes(1 way), 5 days a week, for 2 weeks, and worked..with a broken leg and pin, in a soft cast...and even then, was only off work for a week after the fix-it surgery...lol

Thanks Clark - I have a place on the beach that is free so I will stay there thanks to some FF miles but I do want to get together while I am there. Maybe go out for a few cold ones and some shrimp?
