We lost power in SE IN for about 2 hours last night. We also received 2.5 inches of rain, one hell of a light show and a sound effect which tops the 4th of July. All five dogs really liked the show, well they liked keeping me awake for the show so they could sleep.

Sounds like Florida, the last 3 or 4 days between 4 and 6 p.m. it has just poured buckets for a few hours, leaving the roads flooded with 4 or 5 inches of standing water, plus crazy lightning. A few friends said they had small hail. But we need the rain bad, alot of our lakes are turning into muck. So I don't mind the crazy weather.

I hear ya! We've had a few hail storms here within the last couple of weeks

Let me say, I'm from Southwest Florida, land of the severe thunderstorm...that being said, I haven't seen storms so angry as the ones I've seen this year in NC in a looooong time

After living in Georgia for so long, I agree. This is kinda like when a hurricane goes through.

I agree, Kelly. I'm getting really tired of all the severe storms/tornadoes too. I've lived in the Midwest all my life and I don't remember ever having anything like we've had this year.

See above quote. Every storm we have has had at least 1 tornado. When hurricane season rolls in, then you can come back and tell me how great we have it.

Ok, we still have tornadoes without hurricanes, if I remember correctly there was a tornado warning 3 days ago here in Orlando.

I was just stating that lots of rain and bad thunderstorms was sounding like Florida's weather. Here in Florida between April and October. Its nothing but rain. And for the months of May, June, and July if it doesn't rain at least 3 or 4 days of the week, its not normal. I am not suggesting that our weather is worse then yours, but simply agreeing and saying that your weather sounds like our weather right now. You should know that Florida is the thunderstorm capital of the world, and that means we get lots of rain, tornadoes, hail and a shit load of lightning. As I am typing it is getting black out and my lighting detector just went off at work, and the thunder was quite loud.

Yes it sucks that you have had a tornado in each storm that has come across from, but don't tell me I can't compare the storms that rip though Florida everyday to the storms you have. You act like we only get rain, but we get more then that, we have lots of wind, lightning, hail and tornadoes. Plus when it rains, it freaken rains. I once left my bed cover open (slides into a box at the front of the bed) and I literally had a pool in my bed, and is had only rained for 3 hours. It was

Although I have only lived in the midwest for 10 years this has been the year for storms, hail, tornados,etc.

Just got back from a week in Northern CA with day time highs in the upper 70s and low 80s and no rain. What a great break from the weather here!
