It’s really more about driver habit. The thing about my car is I could drive to California today and not think about charging once. I get terrible hwy range anyway…battery is too small.

A Tesla could work well for me as I dont really road trip more than 300 miles anymore.

I remember when the Prius came out and someone explained how great their fuel economy was. The only cost I saw besides the purchase of the car, was cost for replacement batteries. That was the point of contention. Very expensive at the time.

Yeah it still is. Definitely a downside. You can get small batteries for around $5k now. That’s only 1 year of fuel for me in our large SUV. If batteries last 5-8 years there is still a significant upside. Most just trade cars first.

Friend paid 2500 installed, it failed and was repaired under warranty within a year. It has since failed and is out of warranty so he has a lawn ornament again.

Every time I start up my truck the sound of the diesel engine brings a smile to my face.
Eff EV’s and FJB.

That’s how I feel about this.

It’s hilarious to me how emotional people are about EVs/PHEVs…I enjoy saving money driving to work everyday.

PHEVs really are the best of both worlds, except for the added weight.

I'd rather be spending time outside somewhere versus stuck in an appliance for hours weekly on a overcrowded concrete highway surrounded by angry retards.
YMMV

They also have the lowest overall impact to the environment, especially when you include those which arise from the manufacturing process.

Yeah it doesnt handle well compared to the C6. But we don’t have many curves in FL, and it’s awesome on the highway with active noise canceling inside.

I’m gonna be honest…that was absolutely the last factor in my decision to get one. I did it purely for financial reasons.

That fact wouldn't motivate me to buy one either. But I'm not a Greenie.

Considered a non-plug in hybrid for our play vehicle (wife's commute vehicle) but found a wicked little AMG G45 (GLA) that I'm gonna take a swing at....screw MPGs, this one will be a blast to drive

My diesel truck has not one battery, but two batteries.

From now on, it is going to identify as a PHEV.

I know what EV is, but I haven't heard of PHEV.
Is is Plug in Hybrid or similar?

Honestly I've never seen any EV that I'd like to be seen in, other than the Italian but waaayyyy out of my price point!
