Damn man... the C4 ranks are shrinking.
Post up some details. I actually know of a guy in SoCal who is possibly in the market for a later C4. |

Sold for $6k. Guy that lives just north of Sacramento bought it. He's sending me a $100 check to hold it, then giving me a cashier's check from a Credit Union which I checked out. He's going to pick it up March 15th at the airport where I'm going to meet him. Now I need to smog the car this weekend. The joys of living in CA.

I drove it one more time from Hemet to Rancho Cucamonga, which is a few miles from the Ontario Airport. Gave the guy a 15 minute tour of the car explaining some of the buttons, the adjustable suspension etc. He left back north which is a 450 mile trip around 10:00am. I get a text message that he arrived about 5:30pm at home. Was ecstatic with the gas mileage: 28 mpg driving between 70 and 80 mph.
Car was sold using VetteFinders. Nice web site to sell a car. Only cost me $25 for the ad until it's sold. Once you log in, you can view the stats such as how many have viewed the ad, additional questions from the buyer he/she may have. I did list the car on Craig's List, but some of the people... Example #1: Guy calls me from Vegas, which is a good 4+ hour drive to my house, and is very interested in the car. Would like some additional pictures of the car which I send. We decide on a Saturday to meet at my house around 12 noon. It's already 3 pm and no show, but he calls me and he is lost. So I go meet him and bring him and his wife to my house. As he's looking the car over, I got a hunch that his wife was not excited about the car. So after a 5 minute walk around the car, his wife pulls him to the street to discuss it. After just a few minutes, he returns and says no deal. The wife did not like the interior color which is beige with black trim. I almost had to hold back the laughter. Example #2: Guy more local in Barstow, is very interested. So again we setup a date and time on Saturday. Guys shows up as he promised. Checks out the car and has me start it. Takes a quick look inside. Then looks at the engine compartment. Then sits on my wooden bar stool and starts to think if buying a Corvette is such a good idea. Then he says, "you know, driving here to your place, I realized how much I don't like to drive". So before he leaves, he says nice car and thanks for the time. I guess that is to be expected with Craig's List. |

Sounds to me like they are both fruit cakes! When I bought my Vette I left on a two day trip to look at three and left my wife so she could go to work. Traded in my old Lincoln '88 Mark VII and drove the Vette home. My wife called as I was driving it home to find out which one I bought. Told her she would see when she got home from work and opened the garage door. She was a little steamed that I wouldn't tell her but happy when she saw that I bought the one she liked best from my phone descriptions. Naturally she wouldn't tell me which one she liked best because she had never see them and didn't want to influence my decision. Good wife. I think I'll keep her!

I'm not surprised dude came 450 miles at that price. My experience has been the same on the last 3 cars I sold...no cash money buyers in socal- only tire-kickers. The 4th guy to look at my last C4 was the one to drive it away.
About par for the course I guess. |

Hi Mike. If you sold your ZR1, what vehicles do you have left? Still have the Stang?

I was contemplating unloading the ZR-1, but it is running soo good right now...pretty much took care of most of the small details and dialed in the extra power etc. I should sell it to pay for the 5.0 and free up a parking spot, but maybe I'll sell the mustang. Selling the 91 ZR would definitely take the longest and would almost surely be an out-of-state deal. I would miss it... |
