Ok so tomorrow is Black Friday. Who is buying what and where?

Im planning on making to Sears before 1200 noon to buy a set of Craftman flex wrenches at 66% sale and if they approve me for a Sears credit card, I will buy a new LED TV.

Last year Pep Boys had the Mobil 1 on sale...not this year...F*ckers!

I always shudder when I hear Black Friday. Our Black Friday happened on July 31 1987 when an F4 tornado ripped through here killing 27 people.

I had never done it before but i tried. Every 10 minutes or so Walmart was blasting a Xbox add last night. We decided to go get one. We made our way through the masses my wife using me as a shield to find them in the "crafts" section. We made it to the front only to hear they only had 48 and had been sold out before they even started to sell them. It's just a way to get you in the store IMO. I was pissed we came home and did our shopping on line.

This is exactly the reason I don't do it. I did it about 20 years ago and managed to get the one item I wanted by sheer luck. The item wasn't were it was supposed to be and was on a cart parked in the isle. We lucked out that day but I realized just how stupid it was. There are still a lot of good sales to be had if you want to fight the crowd, just don't expect to get any of the door busters.

No desire to fight with crowds (and apparently Hokie) over things I don't really need. Already have 4 flat screens, don't play video games and get all the tools, auto parts and oil I need at work at cost.

Last year my wife and daughter went to Best Buy at 2:00 AM to get one of the HP lap tops they advertised for $299, a great deal. You guessed it, after waiting in long lines, by the time they got where the lap tops were, they were gone. The store only got 10, which I can tell you from my time with Polaroid, it's a marketing scam. We set up those allocations last year for Target, WalMart, K Mart, Best Buy, Radio Shack and Big Lots, 20 each of a high quality low cost camera to each store location. Anyhow, she went to customer service just to ask if they had anymore and they happened to see one under the counter under some one's coat. Seems an employee snagged one for themselves and hid it there. Pissed off the customer service folks and they gave it to my wife. Never piss off your fellow employees on Black Friday when they all have to work those horrible hours.

On the same note, does anybody know if Lowes and Home Depot are really crazy today? I need some crap to get some jobs done around the house but don't want to go into the craziness to get it.

Back in the 90's I went to the mall once on BF and couldn't find a parking space. Haven't done it since then. I saw a couple of tempting promotions, but F it. Stores always have promotions several times a year. Maybe you could save $50, or maybe you could stay at home trying to get something done (and not spend $).

Back about 5 years ago, my brother went to Best Buy on BF before sun-up in Phoenix. All he got for his trouble was a stolen catalyst off his Toyota suv and no item since they had run out.
