Watching the news today. On-site weather no longer calls it black ice. Must be politically non-correct.

Given the black weather reporter called it “clear”ice, with emphasis on clear, it must be now be a persona non grata thing

Ok, it’s cold or cool here.

First year ever with a POS heating system they call a Heat Pump. It is a Trane from 2001. I did put a new ecobee thermostat on this unit. They talk!

So, 4:29AM these two units get together and the thermostat says “hold my beer” to the furnace which has been working hard……. and send this email..

I expect at least a few more of these notes being as cold as it will be in the upcoming days

The meter is tracking every watt for me.

My FIL put in an electric heat pump about 8 or 10 years ago when they added AC, he didn't know about the heat strips and about stroked first big bill. He has NG in house the MIL hates NG always afraid of it yet they had in previous house both NG furnace and stove
They have electric baseboard heat and told them they should use it and turn main furnace down to save money when gets real cold.
I'm talking 7 to 800 for electric a month and house isn't big in winter now.

Morning all. Nice chilly 21 degrees here this morning. Feed the horse and ponies and am going to keep them in their stalls until it atleast gets above freezing.
