Default Dog Car Travel Question
Our 12 lb Peekapoo is going with us to the Jersey shore tomorrow.
Scooter gets car sick.
We called the vet to get Cerenia, but the bastards wouldn't just give it to us because Scootie was 2 weeks past his 6 month check-up.
Time to get a new vet...
Anyway, what do you dog peeps suggest for a 7 hour journey to keep this thing from puking in my 525i?

I'm guessing Ace is out since your vet won't prescribe it. Benadryl has sedative qualities. You should be able to find the appropriate dosage thru Google.

our vet has us use benadryl also. Our puppy does not like car rides. I hope he grows out of it.

I had a dog that had that problem. I started taking him for a ride every night. First, around the block and done. Next, 2 blocks. Then three. Kept increasing the ride every night for a couple weeks. He got to the point that he thought he should go every time I went to the car. He was a riding machine his entire life. One night I had the Vette doors open, cleaning it out. He jumped in and would not get out until we rode.

Fuzzball is a road warrior. Just pop her into the carrier and go. She only has problems at rest stops, where invariably her meowing will cause people to come up to me and tell me I "accidentally" forgot my cat, so I have to go back and get her.

I was watching Lucky Dog last weekend on CBS. The dog trainer pick up a dog from the pound, and it puked in his car on the way home.

He fixed this issue by putting the dog in an elevated car seat/box(booster seat). By elevating the dog so it can view out the window, it keeps the dogs equilibrium stable and it did not get sick.

My Goldendoodle would get car sick when he was a puppy. Once he got tall enough to see outside, it went away. The booster seat could easily work.

Damn Skukill through Philly got him.
Not too bad though.
He did stand at attention at Pa's finest when he got me for an 87 mph $128.50 ticket. He was cool though and wrote me for a no point vehicle violation.
And I went through an EZ Pass toll thing by mistake.
Whelp...Its Bacardi & Cokes and NASCAR at the beach house now.


BTW, Scootie already jumped in the ocean without having to be asked
