Update:

So I have had continuous power since 9 last night. The water pressure improved enough so I could finally take a shower, which was nice (pics on request).

I got gas this morning by my house, $ 2.05, and also diesel $ 2.29, no line, just drove up and got it.

I am still without home phone and internet, AT&T website says 50-100 folks I'm my grid are offline.

Other than that, the Sun is out, things are getting back to normal.....if this holds.

Power is now stable in North Texas. Still a lot of outages but those are mostly caused by idiots driving too fast and taking out power poles and heavy ice from freezing rain.
Water is another story. Burst mains all over and power issues result in boil orders for much of the state. Our smallish burg is stable but sources part of our water from nearby Ft. Worth so we can't lift boil order until they do. Best guess is middle of next week says per local .gov.

Low teens tonight but 60s all next week so there's that.

Was thinking about my parents while reading comments from all the Karens complaining on FB about being asked to limit showers. My mother and father spent their early adult years during the Depression in dust bowl Oklahoma and these people are complaining about being asked to limit showers and get water from their swimming pools to use to flush toilets. Entitled much?

Make sure you explain that it will be parked on the lawn, and will be on blocks. Also, that you will paint it any color the HOA approves of.

I recommend redoing everything with PEX..
The water might freeze but the PEX will not burst.

Thanks for the offer, but everyone I know is fine, even my best friend's elderly mom who refused to leave her cold, dark house so she could get up every hour to run the taps to keep the pipes from breaking.

I was pretty anal about wrapping pipes and running the water every two hours, and it paid off.

Are you back up and running? Apparently the power is back pm for good, and we have full water pressure, but my home phone and internet are still out.

That’s plan especially for the pipe over the bedroom.
I’ve attached two pics from my master bedroom...this particular pipe blew out in three separate places...it is being replaced it pex, since it services an outdoor faucet I’m hoping we can tie in a hot water and cold water line instead of just cold.

It turns out I had three separate lines freeze. This is after shutting off water and opening all the faucets. I was very lucky my neighbor was able to supply the 3 needed sharkbites to cap the lines so we could restore water.

We have full water pressure, power, internet and the same old spotty cell reception.

Saw a news article on my phone this morning that said the power grid in Texas was literally minutes away from catastrophic failure. If it had failed, Texas would have been without power for months.

Read something about that, a total collapse was imminent and would have taken months to recover the infrastructure.
