These are the practical dates that wrap around our regular events. Lets get some votes on these dates and we'll try and pinpoint a date. All dates are Friday to Sunday. Anyone is free to make travel arrangements to meet their own needs. I can list hotels on my interstate exit so you're close to the action.
march. that's when the college closes for spring break and I wont have to use any PTO

Not sure that it matters, but the Daytona 500 is Feb 16th, and Sebring is Mar 15th.

This (mostly) lurker might like to join.

I'd probably fly in and rent a car -- don't think I want to drive the C4. I would love to autocross the CTS-V but that's a lot of miles to put on.

I would gladly contribute some BBQ and/or steak, both in supplying and cooking. Do you have a smoker?

I'm thinking about this. Sounds like an awesome event.

Here's a very rough thought on the weekend:

Friday, 2/28/25 is the first day of the event. This will be an evening event at my house. We'll focus on horderves and beverages at the Wiz Compound, likely starting in the early afternoon? 3 pm-ish??? We'll go till whenever.

Saturday 3/1/25 will be the primary event day. We'll have full use of the airstrip starting at 8:00 am, leaving around 3:00 pm. We won't be running cars until around 9:45-10:00 am, as we'll have to setup our tracks. This event will consist of two things...autocross and drag race. Drag race will be the much shorter time period of the two. It's basically a track fun day where attendees can run their cars, take passengers, ... I try not to go to heavy into the drag racing, as that's not part of my club's charter, but we can do it.

Saturday afternoon/evening will be back at the Datawiz Compound for Filet Mignon, Chicken, Salmon, all on the grill with the supporting sides. There will be plenty of beer, wine, and spirits, including Macallan. Food and drink will be unlimited.

Sunday can be either another play day at the track, or a "dining and detailing with Datawiz" day here at the house. As in past events, we can skip the track and detail some cars. Between me and Marcus, we can cover several cars. If we have others willing to put in the work, we may be able to handle more cars. We'll likely have to put a price on the detailing just to keep it sane. Will discuss with Marcus.

This is where my head is at the moment for this weekend. Naturally, any and all feedback is welcome, but with open bar and food for both Friday night and Saturday, including food at the track on Saturday, I think $100/person is fair as hell. This covers all expenses, including track rental. I suspect it won't cover the true cost of the event, but I'll absorb the rest.

Feedback and suggestions appreciated. There are Dozens of hotels on my exit and the exit north. Plenty of places to stay. I'll provide a list as we get closer.

I don't have a smoker, but a nice Weber grill. I'm not adverse to getting a smoker in advance. I've never used one, so would need some guidance.

Do you need a min. number of members to put this show on?
Have you thought about a last day to accept donations?
Is this activity for VB members only?

I don't think a minimum number of people is an issue, and food/drinks purchased will be a function of the attendance. I do think we'll have a sign up period in advance where funds will be collected. This is NOT exclusive to VB only. Friends of VB, or even CFOT are welcome I suppose. I do not think we want this to be as big as the old CFOT Cruise-Ins with hundreds of people. I can't handle that volume.

Looking ahead, maybe we can come in and rent a car, stay nearby and enjoy the festivities! Of course, depending on the likker consumption, maybe just sticking with uber and not renting a car would be better!

Those dates work for me as well. I'm considering driving the AMG down to play, hate to show up without any toys.

Of course I could always do the @Stangkiller and rock a rental through the twisties.

Tons of hotels. Give me a bit and I'll get a list of them that are on my exit, and 1 exit north. I'm only 2 miles from I-75, and the hotels are close to the I-75 intersection.

Here's the nearby hotels:

My oldest daughter has a wifey's side of family pre-wedding celebration in St. Pete Beach that weekend, as many of the guests will not be attending the wedding in Austin the following month.

So, I am good for Friday, but will need to travel north either late, late Friday, or early Saturday.

Wish I could be there all three days, but certain Friday will be a fun time.

Since I'm not "banned" at CFOT do you want me to post up about it over there in CFOT? I won't cross post it but I'll just slyly say a couple CFOT people are meeting up there. Who in here volunteered to show up to this that isn't banned there? I feel like mentioning the banned ones will piss off some of the mods...

Also what zip code are you in and this track's address so we can get an idea of accommodations. Are we set on those dates in Feb/March?

Yes, Feb 28 - Mar 2 is the official date.

My zip code is 33912, and my gated community is 2 miles off I-75, exit 131. There is already a link to nearby hotels. Let's hold off on CFOT for the moment, as I don't want this to get TOO big.

Link to airport with entrance: Buckingham Field - FL59

Sounds good. Can I store the McLaren in your garage? Depending on hotel don't know if I want to just leave it in a parking lot for a weekend.

Then I can Uber from the hotel and back or hit you up for a ride. Not a deal breaker worse case I'll just park at the hotel.
