Default I ****ing hate Continental Airlines

Sirius. I'm 0-4 flying this airline and having my luggage show up at the same time and place as I do even if there are no delays or whatever. I finally got my bag about 5 hours late when I got to Tucson last week and asked them If I could go ahead and schedule it to go to L.A. instead of Killeen when I was returning. They said it wasn't possible and were aghast when I said, "Why not? You did it today!"

Now, I need a receipt for my checked luggage. Like a dumbass, I checked in early over the interweb and paid for my bag the same way. guess what, no receipt. I asked for one at the counter and the heiffer told me I had to go online to get it. So, I'm online and it's no help. I finally have to google search the customer care line because continental won't list it on their site to get somebody who barely speaks the Engrish (I swear it's easier to read a MrVette post than listen to their reps). Guess what, a file they have int heir computer systems takes 14 days to email.

This airline was the cheapest flight I could take and, per company guidlines, it's what I had to use. No more. I'm sick of that ****ing airline. it's no wonder there's the possibility of them being bought out.

The least they could do is have the TSA agent give me a happy ending, but noooooo.... **** DJ without a kiss in every way possible.

What's amazing is Continental was lightyears ahead of United...i'm 0-3 on United and won't step on another one of their planes. <yes I know it's now the same company>

Continental? American is the suck. Try going on a business trip for three days. Them losing your luggage, then having to buy underwear and socks at a Kroger store in BFE at midnight and then having your luggage returned to you two hours before your flight home. Then to top it off - lose that luggage on the way back and never seeing it again.

I've only had my luggage lost a couple of times and in both cases they delivered it to me within 24 hours. Northwest did it once on the way to my business thing, and United did it once coming back from vacation. I always have some basic toiletries, socks, undies, and a fresh shirt in carry-on.

Southwest has always had my bags waiting for me even when I had ridiculously short transfer times, like I had to literally run from Gate A-35 to B-12 and even then they were about to pull the plane out. I wasn't thrilled about them making us pay $800 when we had to change our return flight due to the tornado hitting my home town last May, that was the one black mark they earned - especially considering how they advertise zero change fees. They had a (lame) excuse.

I agree it's probably not a good idea to drive especially to Hawaii. I hear holding your breath that long is a real pain in the azz.

I always carry on and since I don't take/need much it's easy to do.

The very reason I learned to pack a weeks worth of business clothes in a 22" carry-on bag.
Carry-on bags NEVER get lost You take that chance when you check a bag!

Expect the airlines to lose your luggage and be pleasantly surprised when they don't

I refuse to check baggage, when Linda and I went to SF N.Mex to see my sis some years ago, we stayed about ten days....we both traveled with stuffed duffel bags, carry on, no toiletries, bought all that junk there when we landed, saw lots of good places, tons of junk purchases, shipped our clothing home via UPS, wrapped all the mugs, and Indian art in other clothing, once again packed tight for trip home.....I can live for a month out of a duffel bag, well almost....so not too bad that 1/2 my bag was Linda's gear.....

I remember 30 years ago being a field svc/tech rep, tossed my clothing in a small duffel put that in the tool/parts case, so that large bag in one hand and the field service oscilloscope in the other, and gone for several days if necessary....TSA did not exist then...obviously....

Since they instituted the $25 check fee for whatever airline I've stopped checking luggage.

It's the only way to fly, and I no longer have to wait for my luggage to show up. It's freakin' great.

Whatevs, I hate losing luggage.

Even on smaller planes, they'll check your luggage in and then check it out for you at the end of the gate.

And get this, what has that fee done? It's caused people to buy the biggest roller/carry on they can and they try to stuff it in an overhead bin. God forbid you sit anywhere near the back of the plane because they will park their shit 10-20 rows back just because they need the room. Hell, United let some prick bring on two of those bags onto a fully loaded plane. What a POS.

And HTF does the seating chart work? I've got shit tons of miles racked up, but always end up getting stuck in a shitty part of the plane? My co-worker who booked the same time and via the same site as I did ended up damn near in first class. HTF does that work?

Do you really think ANY airline is good?

You just pick the least of the worst

I fly American 60-80 times a year. Very little drama here...

United has treated us great. We get upgraded almost every trip. Plus United hasn't moved to the total "Ala Carte" flying like AA has.

No wonder AA filled Bankruptcy.
