Brother in law caught it, but super mild. Said it just felt like allergies but popped for it on a swab. Gone 2 weeks later.

My department's office in the adjoining county has had four test positive. One (50 year old female) showed zero symptoms , one (30 ish black male weightlifter) mild flue like symptoms, one ( late 30's male with other health issues) spent the past two weeks in ICU before being released from the hospital today. Our little county currently has 26 active cases and has had 3 deaths, all elderly.
My best friend called me this morning and told me that his 43 year old brother in Mississippi died this morning from it. Brother DID have other health issues.
I'm tired of it. I try to be careful, but my job makes sure I can't run off to the mountains and be away from people like I'd like.
But in all honesty, I'd like to run away from people because I don't like them, not because of the virus.

I swear I think I had it in December. I had most of the symptoms. Lasted about three weeks. And I tested negative for flu.

Here in Hamilton Co, TN (Chattanooga), the total population is 368,000. Total cases were 2525 with 30 deaths as of 6/30.

Found out today my niece has it. Early thirties, so likely she'll be fine.

Good tip, thanks!

To be more serious, I know 3 people that are regular parts of my life that have definitely had it:

1. My wife's boss. About 48 years old or so, reasonably healthy. She was sick as a dog for a month, but is now more or less recovered.

2. A cousin who is about 33 years old, and strong as a horse. He had it bad enough that he spent about 3 days in the ICU. He seems to have fully recovered.

3. A cousin who is 72 years old. Struggles with obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and gout. He was sick as a dog for about a week, but got past it. He says he's still "not right" though.

I have had 3 flus in my life that turned into serious SARS incidents. Each time, the first when I was about 35 years old and in great shape doing a lot of running etc., it took me AT LEAST a year before I felt like I was fully recovered. I'm not at all surprised that my 72 year old cousin is taking some extra time to feel fully recovered.

Two people in my department just tested positive this week, both work in a completely different area than me, but that’s the closest I’ve gotten so far

My golf buddy today said "Well, my sister in the Bay area is infected. My mom is staying there and..." I interrupted him and said "Wait, your sister's got the 'rona and your 85-year-old mom is staying with her?" He said "No, my sister has terminal TDS." It's the number one cause of sickness in America.

I knew 21 people including myself that got the flu in January. Most were over it in less than a week.

A similar thing happened in my office where a wave swept through and got a couple dozen of us. Dunno if it was COVID but it really knocked me on my ass for 4 or 5 days. I rarely get sick and this was the worst "cold" I've had in years.
