Thankfully we now have EMR (electronic medical records). Really helps with docs with abysmal penmanship!

Ours went down the other day and I had to write RX’s. My fingers were tired.

A friend was looking at the car and saw this thing. Pulled in it and it broke off.

That is it? This is the area where it was. 😂

It's the oil pressure gauge line. Do not start the motor with this disconnected!

What he said x3. WTF is that brown wire connected to? gauge under the hood? DUB may have put in an electrical oil pressure gauge and sending unit. The gauge is very non-68’ in font and color. The black tube is absolutely the line for the original mechanical gauge. I don’t know what’s going on there.

Only if you drilled speed holes in them.

What is the other end of the tan wire connected to? A picture will be fine.

The black tube should be tossed if the intent is to use a mechanical gauge. It has a couple of damaged spots. Not the place to cheap out on used parts.

I have BB Ford but don’t know my way around a BBC, only SBC.

If “tab wire” you mean the coil attached to gauge, that is copper tubing. Goes where the broken part should be.

Not sure but I imagine intent DUB had was to upgrade gauges. A good thing that oil pressure thing broke off as it was brittle as hell.

Is there a brand of gauges preferred to upgrade to but can still keep the original look” of the interior?

OK, the tan is a copper tube. Thought it was a wire. Personally, I’d stay with the mechanical gauge. I’ve seen people use copper tubing instead of polyethylene. You might look into which is better. Seems like I read that the copper was problematic due to weakening from vibration? Or internal corrosion?

Is that the gauge that was in the car? Does it match the other gauges? I see blue and an oil can image on it. Definitely not ‘68. Zoom in on the picture of my interior I emailed. I believe they are correct gauges for ’68. I can’t take a close up because mine is on the lift and I might melt in the rain going out to the shop.

No, that is just something that he rigged up. I still have all the original gauges and clusters.
