The amazing part is that these virtue signaling idiots don't even know the history or facts around these team names.

After WWII there were many tribal indian leaders that worried that true native american history would be lost due to depictions in westerns. These tribal leaders and members ACTIVELY traveled, lectured and promoted the use of strong Indian history to teams, schools, and clubs throughout the 1950's. Many high schools, clubs and teams were INSPIRED at the time and changed their names to Indian based logos WITH THE BLESSING of the Indian leaders.

In Washington, when Lombardi became coach, they removed the logo and added teh "R" on the helmets....and Indian tribal leaders PROTESTED the change and demanded the indian head be added back to the helmet ! The Indian head logo was designed by a native american indian to promote indian heritage.

The facts and history seem to be ignored these days.....
