My new project - Sniper EFI!

Pump in tank is the best way to go.
The hardest part of installing EFI is the plumbing. Pre-filter to pump to steel line to micron filter to throttle body to pressure reducing fitting to return line to tank. The hose and fittings are expensive. Some systems use electronics to keep the correct pressure without a return line, but I've never done one of those. |

Update:
Pretty much finished with all the wiring except for the fuel pump. Ran some Earls Vapor Guard EFI fuel hose instead of using my 3/8's hard line. Just made things easier as the hard line would probably have to be cut to make it route right and then faired at the end to keep the end popping off with 60psi. Ran it in the same place as the factory hard line. I was dreading this but it actually was a lot easier than I thought. I was going to Adel clamp everything but that turned into a pain so I grabbed some industrial strength tie-wraps I have and they did the trick. These things are so strong it take a lot of strength just to cut the ends off. The fuel line isn't going anywhere. I did modify my air cleaner to fit the Sniper 2 so I'm happy about that. All I needed to do is hot wrench the breather pipe to make clearance and delete the q-jet alignment part. Now there is enough to where I can supply the throttle body with fuel using the rear inlet. I have a MSD 6AL box that has been running my ignition for 20+ years and works fine. When I installed that I hard wired +/- to the battery. I was going to run another set to power the EFI but I decided to use the existing power to the MSD and install a fuse panel to power both. The wiring can handle it as I used 10gauge to the MSD. All I have to do is wire the fuel pump, install the O2 and water temp sensor and throttle body. I also need drive it to empty the tank (it's a little under 1/4) so I can drop the old sending unit and install the in-tank pump module. I'm about to take her for a spin then the next time I drive it it will be on FI!!! Some pictures Modified air cleaner Had to cut the alignment part of the cleaner that fits the q-jet Hot wrenched the breather pipe. This was the first fitting. I got it a lot better with my BFH. Throttle linkage clears full travel. All cleaned up with an e-bay restoration and it's ready to go.
