Crazy how this spread all over the world even to my little town in GA. with several confirmed cases and others pending.

All the car shows, Civil War reenactments, etc...that I do for fun have been cancelled.

Go to the store and people wearing surgical mask and rubber gloves is a Twilight Zone sight to see.

The largest carpet company in the world and HQ here is shutting down operations for at least 2 wks. or more.

PA is owned by the union that controls the PLCB operations. Until that gets busted you are all ****ed

It's been ~ two weeks here. The 405 is an amazing place to drive now. I normally take 35-40 minutes to get to work during the week and now it's 20-21 minutes. Also, the traffic normally that's 15-20 mph while bumper to bumper is now passing me while I'm tooling along at 60 mph.

Yep that's the point I've been trying to make.. My son will be ready to enter the workforce soon, went from man he's set money is gonna be good(way better than when I started out) to fuk he's probably screwed in a few short weeks. Making me sad as fuk futures are being ruined or at least set back a decade.

Not to make a joke of anyone getting sick or dieing but we'd all take a bullet for our kids and I'd take this bullet and get sick if meant he'd have(and all kids) a better future even if it was without me around.

I rarely drink anything alcoholic, and even more rarely drink hard liquor. I have liquor in my liquor cabinet that's been there at least a decade or more. Having said that, I bought 6 handles of various things.....just in case. Who knows, worst case, I can help out friends or trade them for stuff.

Otherwise, I have enough hard liquor to last me the rest of my life.

True, that's how it is for some people. My Granddaughter passed on all that stuff. I personally had all my academic requirements for graduating by my senior year, so had lots of fun that year.

So any of you still think there is a political component to this virus? What exactly does any governor (R) or (D) have to gain politically from shutting down their state?

I actually think this is the last thing they want to do. When I look at the the faces of our leaders, I see their sadness and perhaps a fair amount of fear.

I see them kissing ass and trying not to get booted out of office if they didn't do anything and everything any idiot suggested that was in their party(both sides) in this age of "social media".
They're politicians first... It's always about that first no matter what bullshit they spew.
Do i think they want to save people.. Sure they do they're not total asshats but they're also not willing to have any die to preserve a good financial future. Everyone of them would suck so bad as a military leader not even funny and frankly makes most of them unfit to deal with this situation.

So all these leaders, including Trump, are willing to shut everything down and throw us into a financial pit of doom, for political gain?

Yes, but not in the way you think. They are too chicken shit to call bullshit and stop the insanity. They fear being drawn and quartered in the public's eye for not conforming.

I'll add that every player in the game does NOT have to be in on throwing the game, to throw the game. Some are simply doing what they are told.

Yep...

Does it piss anyone else off thay when Trump is positive and trying to see a quick restart that people knock him for it. What's he supposed to do be 100% doom and gloom.

Businesses will have to reopen or lose absolutely everything and alot sooner than most think. A fine and jail time be damned if it comes to that.
Tens of thousands of small businesses are already under water and will not recover, wait until June(let's face it they'll try and keep everything closed until then or later) they won't have a pot to piss in and we cannot financially support them indefinitely. They fold period and jobs are lost, not transferred somewhere else, jobs will dry up and unemployment will be high and drag everyone down. The lost revenue (and this taxes collected) will be billions even if we restart everything soon.

Right on, right on!

The one good thing is that Trump has proven time and time again he is not a chicken-shit. I don't think this time is going to be any different.
