I will concede that this set of conditions AND better appearance, could sway me toward an EV...."Could".

I feel a bit safe saying that because it won't happen.

So how much more does an equivalent EV cost over an ICE vehicle?
I don't include maintenance as tires all wear same, wipers, 12v battery, lights, etc would be the same. Oil changes only difference (call it a draw with electric usage from EV if want).
So strictly off gas used at 4 bucks a gallon... If a 20k price difference it'd be 125,000 miles to break even (25 mpg) with an EV would it not? I had socks on so was hard to do the figurin.... Check me maths.

Soooo... basically when EVs can do the very basics of what ICE cars have been able to do for a very long time?

Out of pure morbid curiosity, I'm curious what you define as "high maintenance" on a gas vehicle. You keep saying it but never actually say what it means. Please, tell me what "high maintenance" means on a modern ICE vehicle vs. an EV.

I'm a fairly old guy, but I don't want an EV because I think they're ugly.

And, I LOVE the rumble of my IC engines!!
The electric motor hum does nothing for me.

I don't want less miles on a charge because I put a subwoofer in my car.

The electricity will come from the same place it came when people started having air conditioning which pulls more power than EV's will pull and EV's mostly charge at night when the grid is off peak.
The grid has grown in the past SIGNIFICANTLY and it can grow again.

I'm personally in favor of more nuclear power. Nuclear fusion is making progress and may be an option soon. We have lots of uninhabited desert areas that would be perfect for solar. All it takes is about a 100 x 100 mile area full of solar panels to power the entire country. We can use the rest of the grid to cover night use.

We have tons of uninhabited areas where you could have solar.
You've said the 100x100 mile area multiple times now. There is not a chance in hell a solar field of that size would power the entire U.S. Nice pipe dream though.

Not sure if you've noticed but he claims somehow tires last longer on EV's, as do all other things. And since he doesn't keep vehicles for over 100k, he doesn't care about your math.

Are not EV's heavier thus will be harder on tires?

If lease was same price for let's say for 2 years I might go EV then.

Correct. EVs have special tires to handle the extra mass.

How long before battery trailers are a thing?

Hook it to your hitch and plug it in.

With that trailer and maybe a solar panel roof, you could crack 200 miles I'll bet.

Methinks this is a great idea, still in its infancy, and if offered would sell more if you put a shiiter on it.
Imagine the time saved from not having to charge AND not having to pull over to shit on the roadside, you could drive from dallas to fort worth in about 6 six hours.

Cybertruck has an option to fill the pickup bed with batteries.

All it needs now is a solar panel tonneau cover.

I don't know why GM is losing money on EV's. I mean, look at them.
