Geek my ride - Episode 1
Reference material I originally posted on CF.
My goal here is to have a fully functional PC in the Vette that will take care of navigation, mp3 player, XM radio. DVD's, wireless Internet, etc. I started this project by getting a 7" Xenarc touch screen monitor that would be fitted into the radio surround. Here's the surround after I began the mods. I used the abs shavings/acetone sludge method to bond everything back together. Here things are starting to take shape. The slot on the left is for a 4 port USB hub that will enable me to plug just about anything into the PC. Also decided to incoporate a couple of gauges into the console area. Used Evercoat Metal Glaze to fill any air holes or low areas left after sanding the sludge. Here it is ready for refinishing. I used the headrest shroud for the Xenarc monitor to create the the pocket for the monitor to sit in. After the SEM Texture Coating has been sprayed on. The SEM Satin Gloss Clear has been applied here. Monitor, gauges and hub installed. Ready to go to the car Stay tuned for Geek My Ride - Episode 2 (The PC) coming soon
