Texas HS football player assaults ref
https://www.houstonchronicle.com/tex...s-15775193.php
Cliffs: he was ejected from game, ran onto field and blindsided the ref as he was announcing it. He was suspended last year for doing same thing during soccer game. Kid needs some drop the soap time. |

I saw that. The school is in the Valley, on the border. It was a playoff game, and the district removed the team from the playoffs, in a group punishment act. As to the kid, considering it's the SECOND time he's done the exact same thing, yes, I think a little time in the Texas Juvenile Justice Department might be warranted.
Years ago, we were mowing a pipeline right of way that ran through a juvenile prison property and we got to meet a couple of the staffers. The guy who escorted our crew while we were on their property was a counselor. Said some of the kids were already incorrigible by the time they got them, but they did have success with some. Interesting to me is, one of the skills they taught was underwater diving. Guy said he had several kids go on to VERY high paying jobs working for oil companies doing rig diving. |

He was recruited by a company, received SCUBA training, and underwater umbilical training as well, and now has been professionally welding underwater for 5+ years. By all accounts, he is EXTREMELY well-compensated. He seems to have gotten his shit pretty well together too in the last 5 years. |
