Shawn put up some more pics. All captions are from Shawn at VA Speed.

In the hone with torque plate installed

Here's a picture of the diamond hone stones. These last much longer than the old vitrified stones-they also make a cleaner cut and less tearout. The other benefit is less honing pressure which keeps rounder bores for much better ring seal

Here we are honing.I try to keep the bores within .0001'' of roundness and taper

Here's a screenshot of the readout on the hone. The image to the right is an exaggerated image of the bore, top to bottom

After cleaning the block, here we are in the build room, ready to start measuring and assembly

Don't worry Steve. It's going to get some good use - picking up the groceries and carrying my sticks up to the clubhouse.

Those Darton sleeves will handle a lot of boost.

A little update:

Richard has the heads and is checking them over. He will be running his new program on the heads and reports 380CFM on the intake with the 2.20 intake valve. We're also replacing the stock L92 exhaust with some nice stainless valves which should flow a little better themselves.

Ed reports that the engine is going together. Crank was in good shape. A little polishing and it's in the block. Pistons and rods ready to go in. We did talk about some cam ideas pending the results of the current cam. It will be tested on the engine dyno so changing the cam is no big deal if we go that way.

Kevin, I have been really thinking my next boosted platform will be sleeved, I think a 427 with large deck heads for big boost will work. Your setup with the L92 heads will be Sick on N/A, will need a vid to hear the huge cam that you will be able to run

Don't think the "gentleman's cruiser" will be seeing a huge cam.

Hey peeps,

We've finished a great cruise but now we can't get home until Tuesday because of the snow in NoVa.

Oh well, we've booked at the Hilton in the beach in San Juan, Thank goodness we got trip insurance.

At this point and time, I officially hate you, and will continue to do so until you return and lay your tanned, sun soaked ass in the snow.

I met him at Orient Beach in St Martin. He was pimping his CD's. Actually very good and I bought one.

Mrs. WKMCD will remain a mystery woman as she was taking the pic.
