A lot of people worried about the massive number of people transitioning from the military to the civilian workforce after WW2 but it worked out.

The nation has always had turmoil and the older you are the more you've seen of it - and America is in a bigger mess now than I can recall and that includes the Cuban missile crisis, cold war, Watts riots and Vietnam. I was born when Truman was President, but I have never before felt like if, we didn't win the next election that America is done - I feel that way now though.

I don't think the Founding Fathers considered the outcome if nearly ALL gov't institutions and "free" press became corrupt and we are there, or nearly there, at this point. The "checks and balances" are eroded and I'm not sure there is enough integrity in the election process for things to be turned around.

Some things are swinging back - like getting rid of many "woke" bullsh!t in some locales and in some enterprises; I'm just not sure its enough.

The country I was born into in mid 1940s is FAR from the country of today.

I hate to say it but if keeps up the way their going things will be changed at the bullet box and not the ballot box.

That's what I foresee but at my age and health I will just be a observer and pray for the right ending. The way things are going I just might see the start of this in my diminishing lifetime but not the end.

Jahmeer Beauziel, 17, turned himself in and was charged with felony battery in the attack just outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Four other teenagers, Caleb Hensley, 17; Sylvester Hicks Jr., 16; Chinua Leefatt, 15; and Jordan Thompson, 16, were arrested last week and charged with the same offense, authorities said. All except Leefatt are students at the school.

The four appeared in court Friday and were released to the custody of their parents and guardians. Beauziel was expected in court Tuesday.

The victim, 18, was slammed to the pavement and beaten Dec. 12 at North Community Park, which serves as an overflow parking lot for students at the school
