My dad had a '76 Buick Electra Park Avenue Limited, which was the same car as the Caddy in the ad. That thing was huge! Powered by a 455, it would pass everything but the gas station. Was fun to drive though.

Back in the day when some cars speedometer and gas gauge raced each other in opposite directions.

Hell, I had a '71 Mercury Marquis Brougham. You could use the gas gauge for a tachometer on that one.

Love the land yachts.

In early college years I was rockin' the '72 LTD. Picked it up off a corner used car lot in Joisey for 600 bones.
Great car for shore trips.

Identical to this one.

I had a 76 back in the late 80s......not the best year for old Caddies. Electrical problems, lots of them, as well as front end woes. the older ones, pre 72, are much better, and the newer 78 up.
It did have a great big honking 502 V8!

I bought mine from a little old lady, widow of the original owner. Great looking beast of a car.

Same body and color as this one....

My first car was a 1971 Dodge Coronet. Basically a Gen 3 Charger with four doors. It wasn't a boat as compared to the big caddys, but it had an engine, four wheels and a big back seat. That was all I cared about at the time.

I had a '73 Chrysler Newport back in high school, found that if you move the bench all the way forward, removed the head rests, and pulled the bolts that held the uprights up. You could lay the uprights back and the seats made a HUGE bed. I'll let your dirty minds wander from there...

My Grandfather purchased the same car in '78 and I bought it from him around 1985 when he a brand new Park Ave

Just like this one but with a sunroof

In the morning before work I would get a shower, get dressed and jump int he car to go to work. There was a long straightaway with only a couple farms on it. I would open the sun roof, set the cruise control at 60 mph, pull down the armrest and extend the steering wheel .

I would sit on the armrest and dry my hair

My friend Kevin had a cabin up at Pecks Pond in the Poconos. I put my canoe on the roof ( using foam blocks ) and was completely amazed that my fuel mileage went up by about 5 miles per gallon. The canoe got put up there even when I wasn't going fishing
