a multi ton train is not like a snow mobile. it does not ride on top of the snow, it rides on top of the rails, which as you may notice, are buried under a few feet of snow. snow that has to go somewhere!

Actually, Ozzie Man nailed it.
1. It doesn't seem the train planned to stop at THAT station.
2. Force of the snow would have surely cleared the platform.
