Very nice new truck and you're dead right about black staying clean for 13 seconds.

By the time you finish drying the second half of the black vehicle, the first half already has dust/pollen all over it

When it's clean and polished up, it's great. The other 23 hours and 45 minutes of the day keeps you busy

Plus you know that after you put 275,000 miles on it, Red will take it off your hands.

People keep saying shit like this..but..of my 4 trucks, all are relatively low miles.

94 K1500- 209K miles ( new crate 350, and trans $186K)
95 K2500- 129K miles
94 K3500- 149K miles
97 K3500- 165K miles

But fwiw...no way in Hell Id touch a Dmax over 200K miles...

Takes too long to repair, and costs of repairs can approach what the truck is worth.

Ill explain now...

01-04 LB7 Dmax...

8 injectors- 2400 dollars
1 stock Turbo-1050 dollars
Fuel pump- 1000 dollars

At 200K miles..all the above parts are absolutely suspect...and have not been changed. will need changed soon...

If you cant DIY...figure a solid 2000 labor....about 6500 bucks.

On my 6.5 Detroit, I can get a new, performance improved Turbo, Pump, and injectors for around 2000, and DIY with some basic tools in about 12 hours...

Yeah, i wouldn't last a month before that bitch would be in the body shop getting one of those rear quarters replaced from me clipping a sign, pole, mailbox, etc..

Sick truck. Good luck with it.

Being able to hook up any trailer at any time and pull it 15 hours with the cruise control set without even noticing you are in the mountains and at the same time being as comfortable as any luxury car makes it worth every penny.

... having the WIFE comfortable on 15 hour trips - Priceless.

Not to mention, in 200k miles, ESPECIALLY if you are towing, you'll probably save that much in fuel vs a big gasser.

Im saying, id never consider buying one with 200k on it. Not saying the 1st 200k arent automotive bliss...its the 2nd 200k that will turn your ass inside out.

In all fairness... my previous truck could do ALMOST the exact same thing. It was a dream to take on the trips to VA down the turnpike through the mountains with the 26' behind it. It was a 3500HD Duramax/Allison as well, just not a dually.

Next on the list is a bigger/nicer trailer (5th wheel) to actually make better use of it.
