I don't have a problem with a day celebrating the end of slavery and them gaining freedom in America.
Americans celebrate Independence Day recognizing our freedom from British rule.

Sept. 22 of 1862 Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation which stated as of Jan. 1 1863 all enslaved people shall be forever free.

but...

Juneteenth; because that's when it was first celebrated after the civil war?


Personally; I woulda thought one of the other two dates are more important.

Whatever the date, it is good to recognize/observe/celebrate the end of slavery. It’s kind of a big deal. June is fine because lull between Memorial Day/Independence Day. Pretty sure I won’t confuse the two.

I agree except that recognition could be another date, Not one that occured due to a mistake or screw up.
