Let’s see your Memorial Weekend cookout grub!

Just picked up Ribeyes NY strips and some legit brauts for Sunday.

Wife and I did scallops wrapped in bacon last night, it was excellent. The next three nights are supposed to be one dinner at the neighbor's, I have 2 certified angus beef filet steaks, and a big package of snow crab legs. We won't starve.

Sorry, no pics. Ask Garf.

Taking the easy route. Winn Dixie is smoking full slabs of St. Louis ribs. Only $9.99 today through Monday.

Have not figured what random dead animal flesh to abuse on this day, but here is a pic from yesterday at Marye’s Heights at the Fredericksburg National Battlefield Park.

Being a country boy, who's father, and almost all of my friends and their families farmed, let me tell you something about Angus. Yes, it is good, but side by side, I guarantee you that you couldn't tell it from a Hereford, Limousin, or other breeds, aside from maybe Waygu. Either way, it will be delicious, and good on the Angus breeders association, because they have put their name out there, and it stuck. Quality product for sure though.

I'm sure you're right, as I don't know shit about different varieties of cattle. What I do know is that I was paying $30 per pound for "USDA Prime" filet at the local butcher. When I brought home the ShopRite CAB filets, EVERYONE in the family liked them a ton better, and only $18 per pound.

My neighbor's Boy Scout troop went to the veterans' cemetery to place flags on the graves. No one stopped them, despite the VA prohibition on doing just that. Whoever came up with that nonsense needs to be looking for a new job, but thankfully Americans are willing to ignore the Branch Covidians and show respect for those who gave their lives for our freedom.

For Monday we got a 15# Brisket, some babybacks, pork belly and think we'll do some jalapeno poppers for an appetizer...

A lot has to do with the marbling of the meat ( that's "supposed" to be how it's graded but ........ )

You want even fat throughout the meat.
