El Camino Choo Choo Custom

My dd is an '87 El Camino SS with the Choo Choo Custom conversion. 1987 was the last year for the El Camino and only 850 of them had the Choo Choo conversion. Mine is modded a bit with a 350 engine and a 700R4 trans, both out of an '86 Corvette. I've had people follow me to ask to buy it but I have not wanted to sell it,,,,, yet.

I've always liked those! Never had enough 'oomph' to actually get one though!

I have had two different people approach me and ask if it was for sale. Both of them had followed me until I stopped someplace. I told them it was not for sale but it could be if the offer was right. One offered 8,000 and I walked away, the other offered 10,000 and I might have let it go but I think he was just talking. It has one major flaw, the paint is not very good, the car came from Texas and is as solid as can be but paint would be a must to do the car justice. Right now it looks great when it's clean,,,,,, from 10-15 feet away. I will always consider offers.

There is probably quite a difference in asking prices between our two locations. A regular El Camino here in good shape will bring 10-16,000. It's a moot point anyway since it isn't for sale. I'm 62 and although I still love hot rodding & cars in general I won't be replacing this one.

Holy crap! A really nice one (I've even seen a couple of Conquistadors too) will be in the $5k-$6k ballpark. Some of the 'project' ones are in the $2k range, but they seriously need work! More than I can do at the moment.

I should have clarified that '87 was the last year of El Camino production, out of however many were built only 850 were Choo Choo's so that would be the reason they go a little higher. I have made quite a few changes in it, some would add value while others would detract so I really have no idea what it may bring.
