Got burned in an annual performance review today!

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!

I'm really pissed about this as my last one was flawless. But due to jobs being assigned improperly, and the job being performed as the work packet stated per the maintenance manual, it seems I caught the heat for doing what I was told and assigned when it was assigned improperly. We have a very insecure floor lead that will not admit to any mistakes but let shit roll off his teflon feathers and dump on the techs on the floor.

I have been one of the best on the floor, as a lead, and the bitch on aircraft I have lesser experience on. I have a 95% average of coming in under the manufacturers billable time suggestion. The time left over is given to the shitheads who can't hold pace. Example: A service bulletin that the manufacturer gives 36 man hours for, I do in 12 because I make special tools and work aids that allow me to do so.

Only 6 items of the review were marked fair instead of excellent, but it just boils my blood to take the heat for somone else.

employee evals are not for the benefit of the employee, they are to cover the butt of the boss if they decide they want to get rid of you down the road. if you are good at what you do, and you are, then if some idiot boss doesn't recognize this, someone else will who is not such an idiot.

It's fitrep time around here too and some guys aren't real happy with their reports. I keep telling these young hard charges who get out thinking life will be grande is that "The grass isn't always greener on the other side."

The worse part is in the morning meetings, the floor lead generalizes his complaints, as to nobody knows who he is talking bout Willis. If I fecked up, I want to know.

Take your copy, mark it up as required ( floor lead said do it this way on " this date" ) and file it away.

That way if the six lower marks are ever brought up, you can shower them with facts

( my work seems to have forgetten "annual reviews". Nothing was ever said about them being sidelined. I was due for my last review 1-1-09 )

Always looking. There are some sweet gigs out there for helicopter mechs. Build your rep, and they come to you. Right now I'm working on helicopters for some of the richest people in the world.

Well you better start learning to play politics real soon if you don't want to end up like your last gig...Be smart about it, and set people up properly for a good screwing.....Think 3 moves ahead, as in chess. If you like your present job, you need to start playing the game, like it or not...
