Bought first house in 2007 and have 13 more years until I own it.

I lived in one house from when I was born until I was 16, then my parents bought an acreage.

I don't think I will make it 16 years in this house.

Owned...as in owned and lived in = 11 and one new one to be built this year.

Owned...as in owned, but built as speculation and sold (never lived in personally) = 12 so far...with plans for a few more.

Owned 2 with my first wife. In the first for 3 years and the second for 2-1/2.

Owned 2 after I got divorced. In the townhome for a year and a half. In my house for 2 years.

In my current house with my second wife for almost 9-1/2 years.

Have had my lake house for 2 years.

One I inherited from my Dad when he died.
One I built when I was 24, lived there 16 years. Then built the one I am currently in, been there better than 20 years. Been paid off for 5. Taxes and insurance are a bitch when you have to pay them in a lump sum.

I've always paid my taxes & Insurance in a "lump sum"....escrow accounts are for rookies.

If you do not posses the ability to manage your property tax & insurance expenses...you should not own property.
