oh my.

so i'm in the kitchen, scraping up old thinset off the concrete (one of my least favorite little jobs), and i look up, zoom, plop. what do you know, a little hail, about pea sized. ok, close the windows.

and here came some serious rain. back hillside flowed onto the back patio, and then into the yard drain which empties into the pond. added about 12" of depth to the pond today. will make the deer happy.

one little leak in the studio exterior wall, will have to fix later.

I hope your shop building didn't get flooded again. Your fix on that problem held well I assume?

dunno. will check it tomorrow.

all my work benches and mobile carts are on rubber wheels, so a little water on the concrete won't hurt anything. most of the hill side near the back door i've left planted with weeds to slow down the torrent of rain. have to see how my redneck idea panned out.

take a little walk this morning, check out the shop...yep, water and mud in the shop, but it will dry up, and nothing got ruined....that's not the big deal.

nope, had my truck parked outside, as it's half of the garage is full of cabinets and appliances waiting to be put into the kitchen....and some damn fool left the driver's window wide open. seat's a little wet, floor's a little wet, but it starts and appears to otherwise work. opened passenger's window to let it air out for the day.

back to working in the kitchen, scraping up thinset and demoing some drywall.

I thought you dug a trench around the hill side of the shed and put a diversion wall in case of floods?
