Maybe you were taught something different. We were taught that vaccines were rarely 100% and had various failure rates.

At the time, we discussed measles vaccines and their failure rates. Some kids still got measles but it was known that they rarely got severely ill due to their vaccine. I’m sure you could Google it and find more examples.

It’s a fact that the covid vaccines are not as effective as they thought. But the way vaccines work (or fail) is the same.

There was no reason to believe that cases of Covid would INCREASE, post vaccination. We were deceived and if, in 2019 or earlier, you believed anything about vaccines other than what was communicated, I am VERY sure you were in the vast minority.

Never did I hear any doctor or scientist PRIOR to the release of the vaccine say "Hold on people, just so you know, the number of cases will likely increase even with a vaccine and people will still spread it even though they feel just fine". We were told herd immunity needed to be achieved and there were two paths. Illness and vaccination. Then it changed to only vaccination. Then it changed to an impossibility. Did they have this knowledge and withhold it? Did they somehow think we already knew better?

Long story short, there are hundreds of variants of the flu virus. Each year this group gets together and tries to figure out the four that are most likely to spread based on early information, and compose the vaccine to target those four.

Every now and then they get caught by surprise and a different one takes the forefront, which is one of the reasons behind the "I got the shot and got the flu anyway" complaint.

That plus people who don't get vaccinated, and the less-than-100% perfect that goes along with anything.

Because sick people goto work and school knowing they're sick and spread it.
When my son was sick I kept him home from school and if I'm sick I stay home, screw work. Nobody ever said anything because i stayed home, probably grateful I was one of the few who did stay away.

Again, definitions get fuzzy and like the language of a law, there is the intention and then there is the technicalities that are exploited to avoid the ramification of violating it.

Taking the definition above, the next stop on the tour is the word "immunity" and the word "protection". Technically they are something different than what the "general understanding" is.

If you slice and dice anything enough, car theft, murder, espionage, fraud, you can find a defense for it. That sure as hell doesn't make it acceptable.

The main reason is that the seasonal flu has nearly 30 active variations. They give you the vaccine for the 4 they think will be active that year. This year they got it wrong.
