It’s kinda black humor, but I just got a pacemaker for the human version of a Dobe’s dilated cardiomyopathy. Mine was particularly advanced. And I was lucky to have caught it in time. Glad I didn’t breed.

I’ve heard that one before, one of my Jewish friends use to get comments from his girlfriends all the time. He is a short guy, I have no idea if it’s true.
But, post pacemaker implant, the increased blood flow has done wonders for my hydraulics, both length and girth. Nobody told me about that! Now I’m getting comments ( and a couple gripes).

Here's one picture of the girl, just before having the ears cropped. Both pups are just incredible! Then another shot with the wrapping on.

While we were at the vet, another litter of 7 showed up. Our pups were the same age to the day, but douled them in size and weight! Man, they were skinny and IMO a malnutritioned looking litter.

When I lived in Albany one of my best friends was the son of a Rabbi and rather on the wild side. He had a older sister, from what I heard rather wild also.

She did say when appraising a date she always looked at nose sizes. She realy like the boys with the big Schnoz!

Well, today my precious female baby, now 8wks 5 days is leaving me/us….
She stole my heart, like her mother a real sweetheart with nothing but pure love. She’s been named Shelby and knows her name. She’s really smart, figuring out ways to break out of the pens and crates!

I’m proud of how strong, healthy and the size of both, she’s now 16lbs.9oz.
Ezra, the male weighed in at an even 20lbs. Docked and cropped, shots started all registered with AKC.

We have decided this is our final litter after 5, it’s a lot! Easier to buy from the top breeders if we ever look for another one.

I feel sorry too for our Marlo their mommy…. Surely, she’ll be deeply affected….

So hello and bye bye to a piece of me…..

I’ve sunken into a deep depression after letting the second puppy leave us. I’m so distraught, I truly wasn’t ready or prepared for this heartbreak…… All I do is sleep to hide…

I have to admit I allowed my wife to decide and this was my mistake. The Doberman thing is my gig, she has her beagle. “Why do we need 3 dogs, we can’t travel, we can’t do this or that”….. All bullshit. We’ve always had three, two Dobes and a beagle…We’ve always traveled the globe and found someone to watch our home….

Both puppies went to great homes and caring families. I can possibly get the chance to see them again, but now afraid I’ll bust into tears in front of the new owners…..

Making things even more difficult is that their mother and our beagle wake each morning searching the house for the babies, yeah like they don’t know……

My coach in all of this is saying I should be happy for the families and their future love from the dogs. Well, selfish as it is, it should be in my house!!

I’m just so angry at myself……Ezra and Shelby….

I’m blessed to have continued conversations with the people who have the male puppy, Ezra. It’s been really very kind of them to have kept me posted on his growth and learning.

He’s a damn handsome boy! Just under a year, weighing in a perfect male average at 96 lbs. He was a very funny puppy and I’m told he still is, a very funny boy!

Hoping to see this little piece of my heart again soon! Wonder if he will recognize me…..?
