Need some advice on electric carving knives
So I have this electric carving knife and have not had to use it in years. It is that kind that has the double blades. When carving, meat gets in between blade and basically makes it more difficult to carve.
Do they make single blade carving knives and if so, are they any good. |

Can't help. I use either a Wusthof or Henckels manual depending on the size of the beast.

Had back surgery about 6 months ago...lo spine right side....thought from the look of it he used a chain saw...4" long and used staples about 1/2 inch wide to 'stitch' it up.....it was just above the undershorts /briefs line....

Well, I got the same knife as Mr. Vette, A black and Decker. It is a white black and decker to be exact. Guess I will have to be satisfied with it. I think I have not used it in 5 years until Thursday.

It sounds to me like the rivet at the end of the blades where they join together has too much play in it and therefore leaves too wide a gap, which is causing the meat to slip between and bind up the blades.
I've always been a fan of Cuisinart...I think that they make top quality products. I have a Cuisinart model CEK-40 that I've used for about 10 years. Came with two sets of double blades (wide and narrow). I've carved turkeys, prime rib, separated beef ribs and sliced crusty bread and it has performed flawlessly. I'd highly recommend this unit (about $45) but if you're really sold on a single blade model, Cuisinart makes a CEK-30 which is a bit less expensive and gets damn near perfect reviews on Amazon. |
