Take your ****ed up life experiences and shove them up your ass. Glad you get to write car blogs now. Sounds like winning to me. My income went up, and my spending went DOWN. Our house is in order, and between retirement accounts, and savings accounts, we are truly putting away 6-figures a year with our after tax income. Very few...and God knows definitely not you...can match the financial health that our household has. We have the discipline to live within our means.

Fast forwarding to the collapse in '08-'09, and then another job loss after that, our household suffered near-catestrophic consequences twice. My credit score, and one of my credit cards with a huge limit saved us both times, but I borrowed against my '08 Z06 twice to repay that debt...it was not fun.

I've grown up since then and have vowed never again. We only have 3 notes (2 cars and the home) and all 3 are in huge equity positions. Yes, I have nice things, and yes I'll have a fully loaded C8 Z06, and yes my wife just retired so I lose her income, but all in, with just my salary, and every penny of the nut paid monthly, we still have 45% after tax net free cash flow from the monthly take home...and the take home reflects 13.5% going into retirement.

Took awhile, but I finally learned to live within my means.
Your story isn't lost on me. When I was married my wife spent money like Hunter Biden in a crack/whore house. She managed to get us over the $40k mark. The story is old, but she split and I got laid off. A perfect storm. Also a PERFECT learning experience. I have only a house note and actually have a savings account. That was a foreign concept when I was married.

A good kick in the nuts is the best teacher. I won't say I recovered NEARLY to the level you have, but all I care about is not digging that hole again. About $220k in equity in the house and if push came to shove, I could make about $6k over what I paid on my truck. Anything I charge never goes unpaid more than a couple weeks.

I just have to address my Amazon addiction.

Once my house is paid off, I'm going to buy an old van and move in next to Adog. I'll keep my wheels on in case we need to go somewhere. Maybe I'll become a writer.

You hit the nail on the head. Life deals you shit hands and does devastating things. Growing and learning from, and then adjusting to never let it happen again, is personal growth. I can't emphasize enough that in 2013, I was so close to losing everything, including the house. Comparing our two situations, I understand your comments. Yes, I'm now blessed with an insanely high salary and bonus...but guess what? These multi-billion dollar companies ask for me by name because I know my shit, but getting kicked in the balls and never wanting to go back is a huge motivator.

This is for UD. I could go purchase, and finance, a brand new $450k Lamborghini, get approved, take the monthly hit, and still save more per month than 90% of the US population. As the "I grew up" theme kicks in, I won't go buy that car, I'd rather have the cash growing, but it is NICE to know I could go buy that car, and that I WILL be buying a $170,000 C8 Z06 by Aug/Sep '24. And even that purchase will bring our monthly nut BELOW what it is today.

Sorry for the rant, but it's not bragging if you can back it up. I can DEFINITELY back up 100% of my claims.

I only want to make enough money that I get to make my decisions instead of my finances making them for me. To me, that is rich. To be able to and choose not to. Or to need to do something and have the means to do it. I have become very frugal. It will never hurt me.

I'll take my financial planning retiring at 55 and buying whatever I want with profits from not wasting money on ME loans dead money in younger years.
Dude, you are as dumb as a box of rocks. What part of the equity that I have on 3 loans says I'm running up debt. Reading is fundamental dickhead. I can list on 1 hand other VB members that can dwarf me in income and equity, and you sir...are not in the same zip code. My household has "debt", but we do not do "debt". We have zero credit card balances, and the notes we have are on assets with massive equity. It's clear to me you failed at basic economics 101. Ping me when you truly understand finances. Oh, and when you own an appreciating asset.

SyphiliticTurdSealer's key to becoming a millionaire.

Step one: Have family give you a million dollars then be an obnoxious dick the rest of your life.

Monthly nuts can seem artificiall low if key living expenses are subsidized by others. For example, I bet the nice lady in the video could cut her nut in half if she lived in her Mommy's basement instead of renting her own place.

But of course you knew that.

The most annoying part is the zooming. I see that in a lot of YouTube videos - I can only assume that some newer cameras come with a little switch that instantly zooms between far, medium, and near?

As for the rant itself, yeah, she's whiny AF. Learn how to live within your means bitch, even if it means giving up a few luxuries.

Being an heir to multiple housing and commercial real estate units bought for peanuts decades ago that has appreciated more than 1000% helps, too. That's called the 'no worries' plan!
