We were told 30 years ago that we'd reach a tipping point in 15 years, beyond which if we didn't give the governments near unlimited power we'd all be doomed. And then they added another 15 years. Kerrmudgeon, they've been lying to you. It's not a crisis, and the increase in CO2 from 3 out of very 10,000 air molecules to 4 out of every 10,000 molecules, of which human activity accounts for somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 that increase, isn't going to do shit. You can find any number of places on Earth that have had their micro-climate undergo large changes in pretty much any time frame you can choose.

Isn't a larger problem up there in Canada the use of words with "man" in them?

Should we punish people who dump motor oil into the sewer or toss barrels of waste chemicals into the nearest river or ocean? Yes. Should we attempt to manage our natural resources through conservation and recycling so we continue to have nice things like trees and low-background steel? Yes. Should we use the climatology equivalent of the Loch Ness Monster story to subvert market forces, thwart free will, and confiscate wealth to serve narrow perspectives on "how things should be"? F**k no.

It might have less to do with culinary ability than it does pressing the "Easy" button when it's already 7:00 PM on a school night, everyone is cranky, and there are roughly seven foods known to man that everyone will actually eat without bitching. For that, Manwich is as good as anything to come out of an Iron Chef kitchen. In a perfect world, I'd make all our food from scratch, everyone would leave work on time, kids will eat anything and love it, and the kitchen will clean itself. Until that happens, though, Manwich keeps its spot on the roster.

I will say that since I now own a weighted pressure cooker, I can make my own sauces to be used on a daily basis. Looks like I need to make some Manwich sauce.
