I'll also contend the family has given way to being a single parent with welfare. If promoting family could be done, I believe things would also greatly improve. Racism? but we now reward and celebrate failure.

our welfare system cuts your income if you get married or get a job. more kids = more money.

it used to be that we referred to unmarried women having children as having children out of wedlock. now we call them single mothers.

and we invent child care systems for the little kids, because their mom has to work all day, and can't stay home to raise the kid.

i could go on, but i'm tired.

If we dismantled the welfare state, and instead, found a way for inner city youths to have access to good jobs that pay a real living wage to start, and a wage to the experienced on which a person could raise a family, I believe that some percentage of inner city youths would choose to stop dealing drugs and gang-banging, and work those jobs. I believe that would set into motion a series of events that would at least severely curtail that worst parts of the systemic racism in this country.

There is a Netflix original documentary called “13th”. You should watch it. I don’t think you’d be able to stomach it though because it’s a little slanted. But still a lot of truth you may not remember or never knew.
