That's a pretty good price. Unlike Subaru, they don't do "premium" vs. "limited". You have to just add on the extras.

What color is it? Manual transmission I hope.

Wow, reading about the CVT (continuous variable transmission) in the Outback makes me rather dubious. So it's under-powered with essentially a late 90's tech engine and a slush-box auto. Not sure about that.

They couldn't decide what color to go with...so of course it's red...and oh yeah, it's got three pedals.

Yeah, I think my short-lived "Huh, maybe a Subaru would be OK" phase, that lasted about 2 hours, has came to an inglorious end.

Sometimes. Usually we'll have about 7 days or so per year with some snow on the roads. More than that is an anomaly. Even with a big snow, they usually have the roads cleared off in 24 hours. We are in SW Missouri, up by Kansas City they get quite a bit more snow than us.

Absolutely. Love my MDX. I'll find something she likes, and at the very least it will have some sort of AWD. Probably. However, she has had a FWD car for 20 years now (various ones) and hasn't had a problem getting around here.

Went over and drove it at lunch...don't know why they say it needs more power...had plenty of it in my mind and coupled with the 6-speed was easily put down to the road. Bit of torque steer, but I expected there to be. Great handling...just wow, fun to drive. Seats were a bit tight...definitely made for a thinner build than mine, but not overly uncomfortable.

But...with a bum knee unfortunately getting in and out was a chore.

Oh well...I'll keep looking I guess. Too bad.

How do you get torque steer out of a RWD car?

Good point, torque steer would be the wrong thing, obviously, but I'm telling you the damn thing felt like torque steer out the ass when I hit it and turned in, hard. It felt exactly like torque steer and that's what I ascribed it to. Even made a mental note of it (which I'll now go back and erase...ok, done).

Wonder if the damage to the car that they told me was just a dent in the passenger door was something a bit more causing the issue?

Regardless, I won't be getting one. Just too low to the ground for me.

Edit to add:

Did some Googling...others have reported similar things and attributed it to the tires being new and "sticky". Dunno about that...it's fricking cold out today! lol

Been there, done that. We bought a 2010 Outback Limited when they first came out. Decent car in many respects but boring. Fortunately, resale value is great on Subarus.
