4-20 Pot Day??? WTF???

Im in the garage getting The Ghost ready for the road, listening to KLOS and today is POT DAY? What the heck is next? Abortion, murder, rape, call in sick day? I wish the girls had "Loose Your Virginity Day" when I was in high school.

Well, we know who called in sick and has been smoking pot since 12:01 AM.

There's many 'rumors' as to what/when 420 started, but I can tell you it started in SoCal in the late 70s by us construction workers; Work 7-3:30 (3:30 aka beerthirty) , home by 4- roll and smoke by 4:20 (that wasn't my thing, but it was for most I hung out with)

The 'NorCal' high school thing is bullshit (schools out at 2:20-2:35 in all of Cali in the 70s)- beside, stoners in high school never go to their last class

4:20 is supposed to be the time of day, not April 20th... weed smokers don't need a special day- they already wake-n-bake 365 days a year anyhow.

Friz, I agree, but they changed the format about a year now. Its a complete different radio station.

I remember the days Id go to LA, put the radio on KLOS and the commercials would go on and on.

That's pretty much right. I am a reformed stoner and I didn't much care about the future as much as I cared about kicking back with my buddies and gettin all redeyed. That all stopped when I started having kids. I suddenly became aware that there was a real world out there with real boogy men (much like Hokie, etc) and my kids were going to be safe and taken care of.

Last time I was in SoCal was fall of 2010. KLOS was damn near unlistenable. I listened to XM Classic Vinyl most of the trip. Glad to hear it's better now. There isn't that much choice on FM for a city of that size. I do miss KNAC from back in the day.

I've gotten spoiled by XM.....but when it's not on, XHIM out of Juarez keeps the classic rock pounding here.

No, but it doesn't surprise me. A lot of land owners that live in the back woods and don't make much of a living will grow a little weed to supplement their income.
