Default Kitties are special...

After dinner I went to the work shop to check on the heater. As I opened the door to the shop, here came Tank, running at full speed from the side pasture. He was wet from the dew and felt very cold to the touch. He was so happy to see me! I sat down on my stool, and he jumped in my lap...to get me wet and cold...and for some petting.

Immediately he began purring, and his breathing slowed. No doubt he had been hunting field mice, which actually should be called "field rats-like-they-have-in-NYC-sewers". They are huge! I had the propane heater on, so we were toasty warm. After a 15-minute deep nap, he woke up, jumped down, and headed back to the field. If things run true to form I won't see him again until daylight tomorrow, when he will come into the shop covered with frost, eat a big breakfast, and take a 12-hour nap in front of the heater.

Here's Tank in case you don't remember what he looks like. He's built low to the ground, very muscular, and is afraid of nothing!:

Larry, I'm sure you already know this but for the benefit of others... Studies have shown that a purring cat sitting on your lap actually lowers your blood pressure at that time.

A happy puzzie is good for your health

Yeah...that he is. Earlier this week he was in my lap at the workshop, and I put my right hand into my jacket to keep it warm. He decided I was playing "kill the monster under the bed covers", so he impaled my hand with his huge claws. They went down to the bone in my knuckles, the most excrutiating pain I had ever felt. The claw hole almost immediately turned purple, as I tried to keep from crying like a little girl.

Tank just stared at me, like, "Wha'? Wha'?"....

Yep! It's like dopamine: I can feel the immediate relaxation in my body, the slower breathing and calmness. Sometimes I even get drowsy petting him. They are definitely therapeutic!

If he had thumbs, he'd grab a machine gun and beat you to death.

If cats had thumbs, they would probably be running this planet...or at least the Internet

That is rather uncalled for. It isn't as if any of them have ever shit the bed.
