Nice. Why don't you have ramps for your side?

Is there a reason for that massive level difference ?

Driveway sloped downhill towards garage? If so it would make sense to avoid water coming into the garage.

It's waaaay better to have em at home......a couple of friends of mine have their cars at those garagedeminiums, so they have a15-20 minute drive to their shops to even get in one of the cars........

I like it ten steps away in the detached.

They are a temporary fix until we get the driveway re-paved.

This house was perfect top to bottom except the driveway.

As soon as we sell our old house we'll get the driveway done. Should have it listed by the end of this week.

Until then we have the ramps.

The previous owner was in construction and used the garage as a storage shed. It was wild how much stuff he had in there.

Is this just a optical illusion or do we have some sagging going on...along with unlevel floor? Might want to support that overhead storage to protect your baby...

We have always had a choice of interface when we built. When using asphalt, we always stepped it up in case we wanted to redo just the asphalt with a grind and fill. I would never buy a home with a downhill sloping driveway that isn't fixed at least ten feet away from the transition. Since his edge is right at the boundary, he can ask for specific grade and have them blend the grade exactly how they want it for their vehicles.

Our concrete driveways have always been flush.

I was paying $120/month to rent someone's garage for the last few years.

Storage unit prior to that was just over $200/month.

I think there are numerous optical illusions going on in that photo. Look at the space between the garage doors, it looks like it is getting thinner as it goes down, but it also appears to be about 1 1/3 bricks wide all the way down.

The asphalt has settled next to the opening, which is also the foundation wall. That's a very common issue.

If the driveway slopes towards the garage, put a strip drain across the entire width of the openings. I typically design a 1" step between the driveway and opening for extra assurance from minor flooding.

Since that garage is so narrow, consider installing a length of 1/2" foam pipe insulation along the walls where the doors can make contact. The foam can be held in place using zip ties with mounting plates.
