Default Almost free gun!

Must have been the booze from last night talking, and I posted in another thread. Taurus G2C. I am a gun snob, but these are cheap and run like a sewing machine. Get yours while they are almost free!!! Other members have them, and might chime in.

I bought some stuff from them, and a couple of weeks later, my credit card was used by fraudsters. That's NEVER happened to me before. I've seen other anecdotal instances of that happening to others. Kinda gun shy of them now.

What does “need” have to do with anything?

The gun snob in me says, since guns last practically forever, why try to save a buck on a gun? Spread out over a lifetime of ownership, there is some difference between a $600 gun and a $100 gun in initial cost, but over the years, you’ll be glad you spent the extra money.

Case in point, in 1978, the struggling student me bought a Smith and Wesson Model 19 .357 magnum for an expensive $180. At the time, I could have bought a Taurus for $75. Forty one years later, the difference in cost means nothing, but I am glad I ponied up for the S&W which I still have and enjoy. Same goes for my Series 70 Colt 1911 which I also still own for which I paid $75.

Trust me, I am a total gun snob. Never in my life would I thought that I would buy a Taurus. It is literally my EDC now. And I am a Glock guy.

My EDC is a Glock 48 or Glock 43X currently. After the first of the year, I may go with a Sig P365 or P365XL.

Well I am pretty close to that in hand guns if you throw in the .40SW and a couple of revolvers I have also.

I have my share of both long guns and handguns. I shoot a lot and was a range officer/instructor for years and now a member of 3 gun clubs. At age 74 I would rather get/own premium guns.

Many of us have a saying and it goes like this "friends do not let friends purchase Taurus!"

I know the owners of 2 gun shops and a few more people that work at the gun business and Taurus is considered bottom of the barrel. With that said some people do seem by luck of the draw get a good one. I'm not a betting person!

I surely understand where you are coming from. Thus my comment of being a gun snob. That said, I had a Sig GSR 1911 that stove piped literally every time I shot it. Let's just say it's gone now. I didn't even clean this Taurus out of the box, and have shot the crap out of it. I owned a Taurus 30 some years ago, and would have told you never again. This one changed my mind. Hundreds of rounds through it, and nary a hiccup. I will probably end up with 4 or 5 of them. If someone broke into your truck and stole it, you are out practically nothing with the exception of being pissed of, because well, I hate thieves. Price is so cheap on these, I wish I could afford 50 of them.

Taurus makes a solid wheel gun but ive had enough and seen enough issues with their semi autos to stay away.
