I think you have to look at Net Profit, as different companies have different cost structures.

Think of a company that manufactures things, versus a company that resells things, versus a company that develops software.

They will all have much different Gross Margins. So what might be considered obscene from a manufacturing standpoint might be the industry norm for a software development firm.

Or some asshole who buys a drug company which produces generic drugs they retail at .89 a pill and consider that profitable; then raise retail to $89.00 a pill just cuz he can. That's obscene.
