I usually drive around looking at various firework displays in the area and will try to do so again...that is, if the ‘rona didn’t kill off all the events this year

They've had the firework stands up for a week now. They shoot the big fireworks on the pier for an hour plus all the other people that have the big one's. It's my son's Birthday so we just hang out.

I usually sit on the deck and watch the Seaside Heights fireworks ....none this year but....I know there will be someone on the beach doing an even better show

All the big fireworks shows in my county are cancelled. I have mixed feelings about it. I like fireworks as much as anyone, and there are two big shows that I can literally see sitting in my living room. One at a lakeside park less than one mile from me and one at the race track at the fairgrounds less than a quarter mile from me. This will be my fifth July 4th at this home and it's nice to not have to drive anywhere and fight parking and crowds to see them.

The other side of the coin is my older dog who has developed a very bad reaction to fireworks. I finally got some tranquilizers from the vet which I will still use this year because there will be plenty of idiots in the neighborhood using illegal fireworks. It's the loud bangs that bother my dog.

Our little incorporated city is the only place in the county that allows the sale and use of "safe and sane" fireworks, which is sheer insanity considering the fire hazard here. Every year people want the city to ban them and every year the city council okays their sale and use. There argument is that several non-profit organizations sell them as their biggest fund raiser. So why not risk a huge fire so some kids can go to summer camp or whatever, right?

Tomorrow is Canada Day; our July 4th.

Everything is cancelled and I am sick of this shit. Seriously **** everything.

Now they are demanding we get permits to set off fireworks. Never been required ever before.

**** them.

My son and I went splits on a small arsenal of fireworks today. Haven't done this since the kids were little.

No permit. Zero ****s given.

10:30 pm tomorrow the neighbors, cops, politicians etc. can kiss my ass because this is happening:
