True Story:

Early in the 20th century Noah McVicker made a goo-like substance that removed soot from the walls, for Kutol Products.
The heating systems in Kroger Grocery stores left a lot of soot everywhere in Cincinnati, and asked Kutol to remedy this.

With Noah's goo product; Kutol really excelled...that is, until after WWII.
It was at that time that natural gas became predominant in commercial heating systems, and burned clean.
With his business failing; he brought in his nephew Joe Mc Vicker to help Kutol Products.

Joe was the brother in law of Kay Zufall.
Kay was a nursery school teacher that was using the antiquated goo to get her students involved in art.
The kids liked playing with the goo.

Kay convinced Noah and Joe to add different coloring to the goo for the kids art work.
Joe and Noah wanted call it "Rainbow Modeling Compound".
Kay and her husband wanted to name it something totally different.

In 1958 they made 3M $$ with a product we know today as Play-Doh.
