Biden needs Michigan to win, but given just how much Whitmer is hated there, I wonder if taking her would actually help Biden? Taking people from CA, like Karen "I love Castro' Bass or 'Heels Up' Harris wouldn't help him because he's got CA in the bag already.

Frankly, if he wanted to help himself in flyover country swing states, he'd take Amy Klobuchar, who, while a real bitch, as we saw during the Kavanaugh character assassination, can play pretend at being a moderate. She already bowed out, though, probably figuring Joe is going to lose and she didn't want to go down with the ship like Palin did.

I think Karen Bass is off the table... I actually think she was the pick when Biden said he was going to make his announcement, then the I Love Castro video remarks started going viral and he said he was going to delay the announcement (meaning he had to go back to the drawing board).

Harris would work because Token Black Female. Plain and simple. Both Biden and Harris were connected to harshly convicting () black males; Biden through the 1994 crime bill and Harris through her work as a DA, so one vs two... not much difference as far as I can see.

Gretchen could still deliver MI which is crucial if it's still considered a swing state in the 2020 election. She hits the "Imma pick me a woman" criteria which is all Biden really needs. A woman of color would be worth a few extra votes, but getting elected is what he's worried about and she would definitely help out. Remember, there are 49 other states that weren't directly affected by her Nazi style Covid19 response.

As for Rice, I don't really know if the Benghazi stuff would affect Biden's elect-ability. He may decide the black female idea is more broadly appealing than the just-a-woman idea and take Rice over Half-Wit.
