After a multi-year firing binge in which Facebook/Meta laid off tens of thousands of workers, guess who sends me an InMail to my LinkedIn account? Yes, that's right: a recruiter for Meta.

What software developer would even consider working at a place that will completely **** you over based solely on one of Zuckerberg's whims?

I haven't replied to this guy yet - I'm debating whether to be professional or not in my response.

Probably for the best. When I retired 3 years ago, I used to regularly get contacted by all kinds of people who "really wanted my skill set", and I would have been happy to do some consulting work. The problem is, they all wanted me to work for free, and I told them "I'm willing to work for cheap, but I will NOT work for free". I guess word got around, because I rarely get those calls and emails now.

Only reason I use it is because my employer purchased LI Learning accounts for everyone in my department. There's some good content on there and I keep it on in the back ground. Occasionally, I'll even stop what I'm doing to really pay attention.
