This is not a Sport, it's the regular M&P.

Depends on how bad you want it. Still excellent deal at current bid -- remember the 15 minute rule with gunbroker

Well, I don't need it, but I wouldn't mind having something to lose the next time I go boating. I'm understanding that this is better quality than the 'sport' and 'sport II' models?

Anyway, what's it worth going up to? $ 400? $ 425? More? I see the Sport II's selling for about $ 500 or even a little less, with some extras, like a red dot, or a bag, light and forward assist. Would I rather have one of those?

You can buy a kit from Palmetto State Armory and also a lower receiver from them.

A few tools and some patience you can have exactly what you want for $500 ( or less ). A set of roll pin punches and an armorer's wrench ( $20 ) plus a few tools from home ( allen wrenches , screwdriver , hammer ) and you can assemble it.

PSA is a manufacturer so by them selling direct, they cut out the middleman and the mark up.

I get that, I'd just feel more comfortable with a 'name brand,' Looks like this went over 4. I just have no idea what these go for, all I have seen advertised new are the sport II's.

PSA is a manufacturer for the name brands

It's easy to assemble. Look at the link, plenty of pictures

Lowers to go with above kits

Or, they also have complete rifles too.

My lake fishing magnet hooked a PSA .45 caliber 1911 recently. 3 digit serial number.Nice, tight gun which looks suspiciously like a Rock Island piece even down to remarkable similarity in the logo. It shoots well and I really like the price! It will likely be a bottom end donor for the SIG .22 top end I found in the woods.
