I'm going to wait for more info here. The woman clearly tells the sheriff, there's a history of this, and very specifically gives the apartment number and describes how to get there. It had to be her that called for the police in the first place, or she KNOWS who made the call. They're in it together.

Assuming this guy had done none of that, why would the woman be relaying all that to the officer? Was she trying to SWAT him? Or is the family lying here? The only clue we have either way is that, apparently, there was no woman found in the apartment, or I'm sure that would have been mentioned by someone.

Or did the sheriff knock on the wrong apartment door, as claimed? We can't make out the apartment number on the video.

Like I said, I'll reserve judgement until we know more.

ANYONE can beat their fist on my door and shout "Police". It is the perfect strategy for a criminal.

I have the right to open the door with an axe, a knife, a gun, and a stick of dynamite in my hand if I want to. My house, my door. I belong, they don't.

He never raised the gun and was never commanded to drop it.

If it wasn't the police, he'd be dead by the time he un-holstered the gun. In the time it would take to realize they were not police, they'd have already shot him.

In the time it took for him to see it WAS the police, they already shot him.

In either scenario, he gets shot.

As over zealous as those cops were, they were going through that door if he didn't answer.
