Default Ecoboost oil recommendations

OK, it’s a vette forum so where better to ask a question about a ford ecoboost . In all seriousness, I know a few people on here have ecoboosts in various vehicles, so what oil do you use? We just picked up an 18 Mustang and the manual says synthetic blend 5W30 (Motorcraft of course), being a vette guy I always use Mobil 1 5W30, any reason not to use that?

I use the Ford oil in my '17 GT (Motorcraft Syn Blend, 5W-20) and the Ford Filter as well (Motorcraft 820S)

It's easy to find, not expensive, and by all accounts a very good oil.

I used the Motorcraft oil on my previous Ford product as well, no worries.

Mobil 1 is just fine though, if you want to use that.

I'm sure it's coincidence, and while not an ecoboost,
my 2011 Duratec V6 scored a cylinder wall at 30K miles 3 years ago.
Ford replaced the engine under warranty without any comment.
I used Mobil 1 5w20, plus a Mobil 1 filter religiously.
Never more than 4k miles between changes, and never below 20% life meter.

Been using Penzoil Platinum full synth ever since (25K miles),
plus the Motocraft oil filter which has the "s" designation
for the silicone gasket (low pressure relief I believe).

I use Pennzoil because the SOs Chrysler uses Pennzoil.
Makes life easier buying all the same brand of oil.

I think any synthetic of proper spec will work fine.

I'm surprised at the hate for the motor. Other than some carbon fouling that is prone to virtually all DI motors, the EcoBoost has been great IMO.

Gobs of power, decent gas mileage and very tune-able.

On my 2015 F-150 3.5 EB, the Livernois Motorsports tuner cranked it up to 450 hp and 550 tq and the truck took it like a champ for 40k miles until I turned it in for my current 2018. (also 3.5 EB)

Our Expedition EL also has the 3.5 and it's been rock fukkin' solid and really gets up and goes.

My bestie just bought a 2019 Camaro SS. I want desperately to find a 4 banger Mustang and turn the boost up, then see if I can surprise him at a stoplight.

been running Mobil 1 5-30 for years on 2011 F-150 no issues. Change every 5k miles. I do use Motocraft filter
